Abstract

Many statistical methods aim at comparing statistical parameters computed from different samplings and at determining the significance of their differences, such as in ANOVA or kruskall wallis tests. In geostatistics, statistical parameters, such as the variogram or the spatial covariance, have been defined to characterise the spatial variability of a given variable. In many applications, it could be interesting to compare the spatial variability of a property from different samplings. For instance, it could be used to study the evolution of a phenomenon during time from sampling collected at different dates or to distinguish different behaviour between different areas of a given domain. In this paper, the objective is to propose methods to compare the spatial variability of different samplings. These techniques relies on the adaptation of existing statistical methods to allow the integration of the spatial components.
