An implementation of Projected Tetrahedra for Volume Rendering with Uncertainty.

in: Proc. 29th Gocad Meeting, Nancy

Abstract

This paper presents an implementation of the widely used Projected Tetrahedra algorithm, dedicated to the volume rendering on tetrahedral meshes with uncertainty. Our goal is to clearly show areas with high and low uncertainty in the tetrahedral volume, without obscuring the average behavior of the geological feature to be studied. We propose different versions of the algorithm, with various degrees of accuracy, efficiency and graphics card requirements, using the latest works on the Projected Tetrahedra algorithm. An application is proposed on the structure of the Mandaros model, where the most likely geometry of implicit faults is stochastically perturbed to generate alternative geometries.
