Abstract

Integrating high quality 3D seismic data into a consistent reservoir modelling framework is still a not so easy problem to solve. Pixel-based stochastic facies simulation can give in some cases an appropriate answer to that problem. Here we propose an original facies based sequential indicator cosimulation approach to integrate the seismic information. This method is partly based on Markov-Bayes formalism but modified and adapted to discrete variables like facies. An application of this technique is then presented on the Munin North Sea reservoir field.
