Abstract

Modeling the fault geometry is often a difficult task because most of the data is deduced indirectly through the effect of faults in seismic data. As classical techniques used for horizons may not be applicable, a new abject has been declined in gOCAD (in a project supported by Elf Exploration Production) in arder to take into account the uncertainties and propose different acceptable positions and shapes for the faults. The parameterization of the Fault Object (new version) and an example with real data are presented first in arder to show all the functionalities of this object. Then the method that will be used ta compute different shapes inside a given uncertainty volume is explained. Finally the projected work concerning the fault network is presented.
