Interactive editing of fauIt networks and associated stochastic simulations.

Abstract

Building faults for a 3D depth model is a diffieult task beeause of the multiple sources of uncertainties concerning the input data. These uncertainties increase along the long chain going from the data acquisition ta the 3D Madel building (uneertainties eoneeming the veloeities, the pieking and the organization of the fault network in 3 dimensions). We first foeused on the parameterization of a new abject, speeijieally designed ta model faults. Then we added the possibility ta compute different simulations of the shape in a given uneertainty volume for a single isolated fault. In this pape" we present first a new way to simulate the shape of a single fault inside the uneertainty volume. Then we explain the surfade aspect of the new FaultNetwork abject, and how we propose to use this data structure to study the uncertainties conéeming the relationships between the different faults of a fault network.
