Abstract

Modeling of sedimentary basins has always been the goal of many and high researches since the 80’s, when some softwares able to do it 3D, on a real basis, as GOCAD, were developed. These researches opened new frontiers to the study of sedimentary basins, because they allowed many computing analysis as thermal, mechanics and fluid flow, to be done in models. All these analysis are very important concerning oil exploration. In this paper, we present some results we got, from the integration of many techniques used for the construction and analysis of 3D geological models with complex geometry, as Reconcavo Basin, CamamuAlmada Basin and a hypothetical basing with salty structures. The construction of these models became possible by the use of structural maps, isopaches and integration between seismic and well data, in GOCAD environment. Afterwards, these models were used in mechanical and thermal analysis, in the attempt of achieving a better knowledge of these basins, and as a consequence, the decrease of exploratory risk.
