RINGMesh: Ease Interactions Between Geomodeler, Mesher and Physical Simulator.

in: 35th Gocad Meeting - 2015 RING Meeting, ASGA

Abstract

A boundary representation of a 3D geological system can be built and small scales features can be explicitly represented. Understand and predict the rock behaviors according to such models calls for a fine spatial discretization that can support property interpolations and physical simulations. RINGMesh is a C++ open-source programming library that allows to develop tools for mesh scale management in 3D. Meshing and re-meshing algorithms take into account structural and production information (fault, fold axis, wells. . . ) to produce adaptive grids (tetrahedral meshes or hex-dominant meshes) that capture small scale heterogeneities. RINGMesh propose several export in order to communicate with physical simulator such as flow simulator (csmp++, GPRS), geomechanical simulator (csmp++, RINGMecha, RestorationLab) and wave propagator (RegSEM).
